After reaching an agreement with Zalgiris Kaunas for the acquisition of Lukas Lekavicius, Panathinaikos proceeds to adding some size, mobility and energy in its frontline with Zach Auguste.
The Greek-American forward/center is very close to accepting the offer made Panathinaikos some days ago. While Auguste is waiting for a possible offer from the NBA, the only other thing remaining for the deal to be finalized are some important details regarding NBA opt-out clauses.
The news was first reported by Greek website SDNA.
Auguste, 23, comes the first season of his professional career in Turkey with Usak Sportif notching 11.6 points and 7.5 rebounds per game. He also participated in the Basketball Champions League, averaging 13,4 points plus 8.8 rebounds.
The player is currently practicing with the Miami Heat. While the original plan was to join them for the Summer League tournaments of Orlando and Las Vegas, his participation has now become questionable.
