Despite the 74-75 loss on Tuesday against Banvit, Monaco used its away victory and qualified to the Basketball Champions League semifinals!
The French team was paced by the tremendous Gerald Robinson, who finished the game with 30 points (6 out of 9 from the three-point line), while he also grabbed seven rebounds and dished two assists. The 29-year-old forward managed to score 19 of his total points right in the first quarter!
Elmedin Kikanovic completed Monaco’s teamwork with 15 points, while Paul Lacombe tapped 11 points,eight rebounds and three assists.
Banvit’s Andy Rautins tried to save the day for the Turkish side with his 19-point performance, though the challenge was bigger than the team could handle in the end.
Just as the game was hanging on a thread and the visitors expanded the score in their favour, Robinson stepped in once again, giving his team the much-needed boost until the last seconds.
