Adam Silver revealed the possible future plans of the NBA in a press conference in London and among them there is an entire division in Europe. The commissioner spoke to the media just before the game Bucks–Knicks in the O2.
The “one-million dollar” question for Adam Silver considering the time and the place was the one about the international expansion of the NBA. He said that “if we were to come to Europe it would be with an entire division rather than a single franchise in London”. His words show clearly that the NBA is looking forward to an expansion to Europe. “There is an opportunity to bring NBA basketball to Europe on a permanent basis. It is something we ultimately want to do, but a lot of work needs to be done” added also the commissioner.
He was asked also about the possibility of a NBA regular season game in Spain next season and he turned it down because of “the facilities. However, Spain is one of our best markets”.
