Partizan NIS has been having a tough season and the club is more than ready for some changes and the first step will be the naming of the new sports director with Zoran Savic being the primary option. The two sides are, according to Mozzart Sport, nearing an agreement.

After his playing career, Savic quickly moved on with jobs in club management with Fortitudo Bologna – where he retired – being his first. He was most notably the general manager of Barcelona from 2005 until 2008 and had a big part in giving Xavi Pascual his first chance who later on led Barca to the EuroLeague title.

Savic had a rich 17-year-long playing career which included team such as Barcelona, Real Madrid, Virtus Bologna, and Efes Pilsen. He won the EuroLeague three times with Split (1990), Barcelona (1991, Top Scorer), and Virtus (1998, Final Four MVP).

He had great success with the national team of Yugoslavia as well, winning three EuroBaskets, one World Cup, and getting silver at the Olympics. All of it coming in the nineties.
