Partizan Belgrade extended its undefeated streak in all competitions to 8 – 0 by defeating Borac 86 – 68 on the road for its sixth straight ABA League win.
The game was the first one in Zeljko Obradovic’s coaching career that involved Borac, the club of his hometown Cacak. Obradovic was born in Cacak in 1960 and played there from 1978 to 1994 before he moved to Partizan.
It was natural that he received a massive round of applause from the crowd.
Regarding the game, Zach LeDay had 14 points and Alen Smailagic scored 13 for Partizan that dominated in the first 30 minutes. Savo Lesic and Marko Pecarski had 14 and 13 points apiece for Borac.
Partizan’s next match will take place for EuroCup against Joventut Badalona Tuesday (2/11) at home. This is another occasion where Obradovic will face one of his former teams since he coached Badalona in 1993 – 1994, leading the Spanish side to the first and only EuroLeague title in the history of the club. It was the second EuroLeague championship for the Serbian coach after the one he won with Partizan in 1992.
