In the closing game of the AdmiralBet ABA League Regular Season Round 6, Crvena Zvezda mts strolled past Mega Mozzart, 81-67.
Nate Wolters poured a team-high 13 points with 6/11 field goals in Monday’s contest. Nikola Kalinic and Marko Simonovic had 11 points apiece, while Ognjen Dobric rounded up the double-digit scoring field with ten points. Captain Branko Lazic was out along with Nikola Ivanovic and Aaron White.
An 8-0 sprint midway the first quarter broke an early tie, 7-7. The hosts comfortably in control illustrated the picture the rest of the way with with the lead peaking at 21 points during the second period.
Young Polish center Aleksander Balcerowski logged a game-high 19 points, also posted four rebounds and three assists for the visitors failing to stay close through the 40 minutes. Karlo Matkovic followed with 14 points behind 7/11 two-pointers.
Crvena Zvezda jumped to 5-1 with the third win in a row in ABA after the loss to Igokea on October 10. The fellow Serbian side was forced down to 2-4. Zeljko Obradovic’s Partizan NIS at 6-0 is enjoying the view from the top of the standings. Right behind, Buducnost VOLI and FMP in the three-way tie at 5-1.
The team led by Montenegrin mastermind Dejan Radonjic will host Panathinaikos OPAP on Thursday. Both teams are 2-5 in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague entangled in a five-way tie with Fenerbahce Beko, Anadolu Efes, and ALBA Berlin ahead of the direct meeting in the Regular Season Round 8.
