Although Crvena Zvezda had an upper hand throughout most of the game, Buducnost tenaciously fought back. Until Nate Wolters decided to take matters into his own hands and seal an 80-76 road win for the red-and-white in ABA League.
Wolters finished with 14 points but seven of those came in the final three minutes of the clash. It was a tie at 71 when Wolters scored seven straight points for Zvezda, fending off Buducnost which followed every step of the way and was ready to turn the tables at any moment.
Nikola Kalinic, who scored 16 points, sealed the deal with two out of two from the free-throw line to set the final score. Luka Mitrovic scored 12 and Aaron White 11 points.
For Buducnost, DJ Seeley scored 18 points in addition to Marko Jagodic-Kuridza’s 11 and Danilo Nikolic’s ten points. Donatas Tarolis scored ten as well.
With this win, Zvezda jumped to a 22-2 record and is on pace to take over the top seed from Partizan (22-4). Buducnost is third with 18-7 followed by Cedevita Olimpija (17-8).
