Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet have finished the regular season with a road win over Cedevita Olimpija in postponed game of Round 3.
The final score was 84-70 and the real news came from Luka Doncic being present in the game, held in Stozice Arena at Ljubljana, Slovenia.
The guests played without Luca Vildoza and Facundo Campazzo who were rested and Nikola Ivanovic had a career-high of 29 points.
The result didn’t change – and couldn’t change – anything in the final standings, as Zvezda finished second with a 23-3 record, while Cedevita Olimpija is fourth (17-9) on the way for a semifinal clash against the league leaders Partizan Mozzart Bet (24-2).
Zvezda started the game with a 17-0 run, the hosts responded and made it a two-point game (30-28), but the guests closed the first half with a 13-2 partial score (43-30) and the game was practically over after that.
With Doncic recently admitting that he followed Crvena Zvezda’s Euroleague season, his presence in the gym of his hometown team, where he made his first basketball steps, is not a surprise.
