Frank Kaminsky scored a game-high 22 points as Partizan Belgrade defeated archrival Crvena Zvezda in ABA League 98 – 87 to grab their second win in the classic Serbian derby after Thursday’s EuroLeague clash between the two sides.
In one of his top performances during his first stint outside the NBA, Kaminsky barely missed a shot, finishing with 6-7 from the field and 9-10 free throws. He had seven of his points in the second quarter that Partizan dominated 30 – 11 to close halftime up 47 – 36. P.J. Dozier, another former NBAer, contributed 10 out of his 12 points during that stretch.
Zvezda fell behind even by 19, 68 – 49 before closing that gap to 72 – 66 at the start of the fourth period. That six-point margin was the closest to Partizan they got though since the hosts retained their advantage, going ahead 94 – 84 with 1:34 to more or less secure the victory.
Shabazz Napier had 23 points and eight assists for Zvezda. Rokas Giedraitis scored 13 points and grabbed six rebounds while Luka Mitrovic posted 12 points and five boards.
Aleksa Avramovic produced 15 points plus six assists to help Partizan get the win. Zach LeDay scored 13.
