In the second episode of AdmiralBet ABA Talks, Aleksandar Petrovic talked with Zarko Paspalj and Sasa Doncic about plans to hold an exhibition game in Zagreb in memory of his brother Drazen Petrovic on September 5. He also revealed Zeljko Obradovic accepted an invitation to coach one team in the Drazen Legacy game.
“I can give you new exclusive news. I can slowly start revealing. At the start of February, we will have a press conference in Zagreb where we will present Drazen’s Legacy game,” mentioned the former player and current coach.
“The Croatian national team will take on a European selection. Who is going to be the coach of the European selection? Certainly, the coach with the most European titles,” he added on Obradovic agreeing to take over the visitors.
In Round 17 of the AdmiralBet ABA League Regular Season with Cibona hosting Partizan Mozzart Bet in Zagreb’s Drazen Petrovic Basketball Hall, he shared an emotional moment with the head coach of the team based in Belgrade.
“The two of us have a good relationship,” explained Petrovic, “He agreed to this without any hesitation or problem to lead the team which will take on the Croatian national team on September 5th in Zagreb.”
His brother Drazen died in a car accident on June 7, 1993. He was coming off four NBA seasons between the New Jersey Nets and Portland Trail Blazers after a brilliant start to his career in Europe, including two EuroLeague championships.
