Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet finished the season in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague but still fights for the ABA League throne.
They narrowly won the first playoff game against SC Derby, taking the lead in the quarterfinal series, but have now suffered a significant blow with Adam Hanga’s injury.
As the club officially announced, the former EuroLeague champion suffered an injury to his left hand during Wednesday’s training, which will keep him off the court for the foreseeable future.
Hanga underwent examinations that revealed a fracture of the third metacarpal bone in his left hand, and after further examinations, a decision will be made on whether he will undergo surgery or if his injury will be treated differently.
After spending almost 12 years in Spanish basketball with Manresa, Baskonia, Barcelona, and Real Madrid, the 35-year-old Hungarian forward joined Crvena Zvezda last summer.
During his stay with the Belgrade outfit, Hanga participated in 26 EuroLeague matches, averaging eight points, 2.9 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 6.3 points with 2.6 assists and 2.3 rebounds in his 20 ABA League appearances.
