After four months of recovery due to a left knee injury, Nikola Topic, a talented Serbian guard projected to be among the top picks at the upcoming 2024 NBA draft, returned to the court with Crvena Zvezda but got injured again at the start of the ABA League Finals.

According to ESPN’s Jonathan Givony, luckily, Topic avoided serious injury. The initial diagnosis revealed a sprained left knee, which he also injured at the beginning of 2024.

The injury likely rules him out of the remainder of the ABA Finals, but as reported, the 18-year-old point guard should be a full participant in NBA pre-draft activities in June.

Topic departed Game 1 of the Adriatic League finals with a non-contact injury to the same left knee that caused him to miss 4 months of action in January. He’s expected to attend the NBA Global Camp in Treviso on June 6, where he’ll conduct an NBA physical and Combine activity,” Givony wrote.

Crvena Zvezda: Nikola Topic’s injury doesn’t require surgery

Crvena Zvezda announced that the talented point guard’s injury won’t require surgery at the moment but that he’ll miss upcoming games.

Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet informs the public that after initial medical examinations, it has been determined that Nikola Topić’s injury currently does not require surgical intervention (surgery).

However, this type of injury requires a short period of rest, which means that our team member will not be able to assist the team in the upcoming games.
