After parting ways earlier in the day with Zoran Martić, Cedevita Olimpija Ljubljana announced its newest head coach ahead of the transfer window in the summer.
Taking over on the Slovenian club’s bench, Zvezdan Mitrovic starts back from the ABA League and BKT EuroCup, where he already found success with AS Monaco in the 2020-21 season.
The Montenegrin head coach last guided Galatasaray in the Turkish Basketball Super League and in the Basketball Champions League, but got fired midway through the season and was replaced by Yakup Sekizkök.
Before coaching the green-and-orange side from Ljubljana, he spent four years in Monaco (2015-18 and 2020-21), coached his home country’s national team from 2017 to 2019, and also spent two years in ASVEL from 2018 to 2020.
