Dubai is changing its course after it was made clear they won’t participate in the EuroCup next season

Initially considered the frontrunner for Dubai’s inaugural head coach position, Sasha Djordjevic’s prospects have now dimmed following the announcement that they won’t participate in the EuroCup alongside the ABA League for the upcoming season.

Instead, the club is eyeing Jurica Golemac, as reported by Meridian Sport.

Golemac, a Slovenian coach known for his stints at Cedevita Olimpija and Koper in the Adriatic competition, most recently coached Hapoel Eilat in Israel during the latter part of the 2023/24 season.

With an impressive track record including three Slovenian league titles, four cup wins, and five Super Cup victories, Golemac appears poised to take charge of Dubai’s new basketball project in the United Arab Emirates. Dubai’s entry into the ABA League is scheduled to commence in the upcoming season.
