Crvena Zvezda lost the first game of the season in the ABA League, falling on the road to the debutants, Dubai BC.

In the first official game of Dubai, played in their Coca-Cola Arena, Jurica Golemac’s squad made history by taking down the defending champions, 86-84.

It all came down to the wire, with Codi Miller-McIntyre having a chance to win the game in the final seconds, but he missed a three-point shot with two seconds to go, and Dubai prevailed.

U.S. guard Nate Mason led the way for the UAE side with 18 points, former Virtus Bologna forward Awudu Abass followed with 17, while the experienced Klemen Prepelic, the captain of the Dubai team, finished the game with a double-double of 16 points and 10 assists.

On the other side, Nikola Kalinic scored 16 points, Isaiah Canaan 13, while Luka Mitrovic added 12, Nemanja Nedovic 11, and Miller-McIntyre 10. It’s worth noting that Milos Teodosic was ejected at the start of the fourth period after an unsportsmanlike foul that followed a technical.
