After trailing for the better part of three quarters, Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet got some distance in crunch time to beat Mega MIS, 81-76, in Belgrade’s Ranko Zeravica Sports Hall on Sunday.
Building a two-possession lead with 1:40 on the clock, Nikola Kalinic connected from beyond the arc and ended up with seven points. Holding on for a third straight win across all competitions improved the AdmiralBet ABA League record to 6-2. Head coach Giannis Sfairopoulos left Dejan Davidovac and Rokas Giedraitis out of the lineup for the Regular Season Round 8 affair alongside injured Joel Bolomboy (right knee).
Among the available players who delivered standout performances, Codi Miller-McIntyre scored 17 points with 7/12 field goals, Filip Petrusev paired 14 points with seven rebounds and three assists, and Nemanja Nedovic threw in 15 more points.
Mihailo Petrovic earned a share of a game-high 17 points but was on the wrong end of the result. Bogoljub Markovic followed with 16 points and Kosta Kondic had 15 points.
In a comfortable lead most of the way, including the entire second half, Partizan Mozzart Bet overpowered Dubai, 82-61, in Belgrade Arena.
Carlik Jones registered a game-high 17 points with 6/12 field goals to go with four assists, two steals, and two rebounds. The fellow double-digit scorer for the team coached by Zeljko Obradovic, Frank Ntilikina drew an efficient 11-point display behind 3/3 from the field and 3/3 free throws. Mitar Bosnjakovic, Arijan Lakic, and Mario Nakic did not suit up for various reasons.
