Following a losing effort in Round 20 of the 2024-25 AdmiralBet ABA League Regular Season, Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet shared a video citing 11 mistakes made by the referees of the meeting with Buducnost VOLI in Belgrade’s Aleksandar Nikolic Hall on Monday.
“We must not remain silent about a public robbery from the three referees, Javor, Petek, and Porobic,” was noted in a press release on Tuesday, “How else can the events of the Round 20 game be called, where as many as 11 referee decisions were against our team? It’s not called unawareness – it’s intention!”
“For a team playing a fifth game in just nine days, with this schedule, it had to be better than the opponent by virtually 15 to 20 points due to these decisions. It was too much,” the Belgrade-based club described the impact of the calls.
Zvezda also recalled the specific officials, Damir Javor, Saso Petek, and Dragan Porobic being in charge of the meeting between Buducnost and Partizan Mozzart Bet in Round 12 of the regional league. The team based in Podgorica prevailing in Belgrade Arena ‘directly created the positions of the clubs in the standings.’
Following Round 20, Partizan and Buducnost are on top of the table with 38 points and an 18-2 record. Zvezda follows in third place with 36 points behind a tally of 16-4.
The defending champions are tied with archrival Partizan in first place of the list of teams with the most ABA titles.
