Dubai opted in and extended Jurica Golemac’s contract for another season.
The announcement about the Slovenian head coach was made on Monday.
“As our first-ever head coach, Jurica believed in our project during the challenging early days of our franchise. He has grown with us and become a vital part of our Dubai Basketball family,” said general manager Dejan Kamenjasevic, “Through his passion, vision, and determination, he had led the team with excellence, and he is fully Committed to our project. We are thrilled to extend his contract option for another year, with a shared vision of long-term success.”
“Continuity is the strongest proof of progress, and we look forward to building the future together,” he added on the decision to use the option on the contract of Golemac.
Coming out of an extensive list of achievements as a player, the Dubai boss previously won several titles in Slovenia with Cedevita Olimpija and Koper Primorska. Additional head-coaching experience went into Hapoel Eilat and Sentjur. Also, he served as an assistant coach at Cibona and the senior national team of Georgia.
Moving to the newly-formed club, the 47-year-old tactician is behind a 20-5 record in the 2024-25 AdmiralBet ABA League Regular Season. His side currently ranks third in the standings, having already clinched a berth in the Playoffs.
Eventually switching to the second campaign in team history, Dubai intends to expand the team schedule beyond the regional league, into club continental competition in Europe.
