Crvena Zvezda had already mathematically checked the 1st place in the regular season of ABA League and against Buducnost, it set a new record for most victories in a single-season of the championship.
The defending champs prevailed 82 – 66 over the Montenegrins in the last game before the postseason clinching win no. 25 in 26 matches. A quite impressive feat that no other team has ever achieved in the history of the league.
Buducnost finished fourth in the standings, so the two teams will meet each other again in the semifinals.
Charles Jenkins paced the winners with 21 points, 5 assists and 2 steals, while Ognjen Kuzmic contributed 14 plus 8 rebounds.
