Cedevita’s 76-71 win over Partizan dropped the Serb team out of ABA’s playoff zone. Saturday’s match was interrupted for 20 minutes because the fans behind the visitors’ bench took it on themselves to throw objects towards the players of the Croatian club. The game restarted after that portion of the crowd was evacuated.
These particular fans weren’t the only ones displeased with Partizan’s performance. In the Press Conference following the ABA Regular Season match, Andrea Trinchieri wrote down his players’ shooting percentages on a piece of paper to demonstrate their negative effect on the result.
“We had a very bad day. We weren’t mentally ready. I wish they could listen to me just a little bit. We were naïve on the court. What now? Are we going to kill them? No. I expected a bad game. I understand the fans, the journalists, everyone, but I have to do my job” the 50-year-old Italian coach mentioned.
