Partizan Belgrade Andrea Trinchieri commented on the superiority of Crvena Zvezda following the rout of his team in Game 3 of the ABA League semifinals and elimination from the rest of the playoffs.
“Congratulations to Crvena Zvezda. They were the favorites and they played as favorites. I think they were better, stronger. They were designed to return to EuroLeague,” Trinchieri said in the post-game presser. The ABA League champion automatically gets a ticket for next season’s EuroLeague.
“It’s not a moment for deeper analysis. We will not stop until Partizan returns where it belongs,” Trinchieri added.
Partizan lost Game 1 in overtime and then tied the series 1-1 in Game 2. But failed to compete in the last match, thus losing the series. “We never managed to hit a basket. Never, never, never. It was very difficult to play,” Trinchieri mentioned. “It wasn’t a matter of fighting. But quality,” the Italian coach added, once again emphasizing on Red Star being the better team.
While Partizan Belgrade is turning its focus to the Serbian League, Crvena Zvezda is waiting to meet its opponents in ABA Finals. Cedevita Zagreb and Buducnost Voli are facing each other in the other semifinal series. The teams are tied 1-1 and Game 3 is played in Zagreb, Sunday (7/4).
