ABA League Disciplinary Judge Sasa Pavlicic Bekic decided on the penalties against Crvena Zvezda mts. The sanctions due to the spectators’ extreme reactions before and during Game 5 of the Finals versus Buducnost VOLI are the most severe in the League’s history. The stands will be closed for the Serbian’s side first two 2019-20 matches and only women and children up to 14-years-old will be allowed to enter Aleksandar Nikolic Hall in the following three. Also, Crvena Zvezda will pay a fine of 35,000 euros.
Crvena Zvezda player Maik Zirbes was fined with 100 euros due to the technical foul in the ABA League Finals Game 5. Including previously mentioned sanctions, in total, the Serbian team is fined with 82,500 euros for the 2019 ABA League Playoffs games due to insufficient organization, statements in the media that have damaged the image of ABA League and technical fouls.
For the technical foul and not appearing at the ABA League Finals Game 5, Budućnost former head coach Jasmin Repeša is fined with 3,300 euros. Due to technical foul, Suad Šehović is fined with 100 euros for the ABA League Finals Game 5. Including previously mentioned sanctions, in total, Budućnost is sanctioned with 42,000 euros of fine and with closing part of the stands for Game 4 for the 2019 ABA League Playoffs games due to insufficient organization and technical fouls.
Besides the two finalists, Cedevita is fined with a total of 2,600 euros for the 2019 ABA League Playoffs games due to insufficient organization and technical fouls.
Partizan NIS is fined with a total of 24,000 euros for the 2019 ABA League Playoffs games due to insufficient organization, statements in the media that have damaged the image of ABA League and technical fouls.
There are disciplinary proceedings which are still in progress. In case of any additional disciplinary sanctions, the public will be informed immediately.
