Partizan NIS President Ostoja Mijailovic talked to ‘Novosti’ on various topics and briefly shared his standpoint on Olympiacos’ intentions to join the ABA League as they have already sent the request:
“Both Olympiacos and Panathinaikos have contacted us. I had a conversation with the general manager of Olympiacos who shared their intentions. Certainly, with the entry of the Piraeus club, we would gain in the marketing field, probably lose somewhere as well. One of the minimum conditions is that Olympiacos, if we choose to, participates for at least three years. We all need, the clubs that own the ABA League, to think and bring a unique stand, but it is important that the interest of regional basketball prevails”, he noted.
Olympiacos has talked with the league management as well as the other clubs and the whole situation will be assessed during the ABA League General Assembly which has been scheduled for May 14 in Banja Luka, as confirmed by the League Director Kresimir Novosel.
