Baskonia prevailed over Real Madrid 95-94 on the road for Round 18 of the Spanish ACB League and improved to a 9-9 record in the standings with its two-game winning streak. This marks Real’s first homecourt defeat since April 4th, 2019.
Pierria Henry led the winning side with 26 points on 12-16 FG, while Tornike Shengelia and Youssoupha Fall posted 16 points each. Shengelia also made the biggest play of the game and sealed the deal from the free throws line.
On the other end of the court, Facu Campazzo and Sergio Llull tried to save the hosts with incredible individual performances each. Campazzo posted a game-high 27-point performance, while Llull, who nearly shocked Baskonia, in the end, finished with 23 points.
Both teams came up strong in the fourth period after a balanced game for three quarters (60-63) and were head to head until the end. Llull evened the score at 91 points with 42 seconds to go with a three-pointer, then repeated the process with five seconds left, though Baskonia managed to seal the victory.
Real will finish off the week at a tie with Barcelona on top of the standings with a 14-4 record.
