Sports Councilor of the Cabildo de Gran Canaria, Francisco Castellano confirmed that he has offered Gran Canaria as the venue for the end of the Endesa League season, regardless of the format decided, following reports that the ACB hopes to continue the season in the Canary Islands.
“It is true. Last Thursday morning I had a telephone conversation with ACB President Don Antonio Martin”, Castellano told Cope. “ On April 20 a meeting will be held to decide if the season continues and with what format. Among the possible scenarios, I offered the possibility of contemplating Gran Canaria”.
Castellano focused on the few reported cases of coronavirus in the Canary Islands, stating that the season could resume safely, “We have arenas with the proper conditions so that the competition can end with the maximum guarantees of safety in all aspects, not only of health but also with the best sports facilities for training and meetings.”
