ACB President Antonio Martín is clear that he will only allow the conclusion of the competition if this will comply with all the sanitary requirements imposed by the Spanish authorities. The ACB already has numerous offers of venues to play its final phase and deadlines have already been set. However, the schedule could coincide with that of international competitions, such as the EuroLeague, so he calls for setting up a plan to avoid that.
“The reality is that the degree of uncertainty is great. If it is this big for a specific territory, talking about international competitions with team trips or players from different countries seems more difficult, ” the ACB President explained during an interview with Movistar +.
“We have created a roadmap with a deadline, May 31, to decide whether to compete or not; and another deadline, July 10, to end the competition. We must work in consensus. There is time. I think Euroleague had said that they could compete until July 31. But, the truth is, we cannot play without our clubs or without setting deadlines. I hope that everything can fall into place for the clubs that participate in two competitions ”
