Campazzo logs career-high and hands Real Madrid win over Valencia

Valencia Basket managed to get back up from a slow start and push the game to a close finish, however, Facundo Campazzo proved to be unstoppable for Jaume Ponsarnau’s squad and Real Madrid got a 95-90 win.

Campazzo was ‘in the zone’ as he kept collecting baskets and dimes, finishing with 29 points on 10-14 shooting (3-6 triples) as well as 11 assists.

This was his best scoring performance in Europe (had a 35-point performance in Argentina) while he logged a total of 42 PIR which is his new career-high.

Gabriel Deck helped with 14 and Trey Thompkins with 13 points. On the other side, Alberto Abalde scored 17 in addition to Vanja Marinkovic’s 14 and Jordan Loyd’s 13 points.

Earlier, Herbalife Gran Canaria managed to take down San Pablo Burgos 91-87 after overtime and it was in big part thanks to Ioannis Bourousis.

The 26-year-old Greek big ‘held a lesson’ during his 24 minutes on the floor, logging 25 points and seven rebounds. Omar Cook added 16 while Matt Costello flirted with a double-double (11 points, nine boards).

For Burgos, Vitor Benite was on fire with game-high 26 points in addition to Jasiel Rivero’s 14 and Thad McFadden’s 11 points. Rivero also grabbed nine boards.

MoraBanc Andorra closed the night with a 113-93 win over Casademont Zaragoza, improving to 1-2 record while leaving the latter without a win in the first there games.

Dejan Todorovic was behind the winning side’s charge with 26 points on 8-10 shooting while David Jelinek and Babatunde Olumuyiwa added 12 each.

For Zaragoza, Nicolas Brussino and Robin Benzing scored 19 each while Dylan Ennis helped with 14 points.
