Clevin Hannah put on a strong performance and led MoraBanc Andorra to a 91-75 win over Real Madrid in the Spanish League Final Tournament. Both teams now hold a 2-2 record.
Hannah banked 23 points on 7-11 shooting while Frantz Massenat added 11 and David Walker ten points.
For Real Madrid, Facundo Campazzo logged 18 points and six assists in addition to Anthony Randolph’s 12 and Edy Tavares’ ten points.
It was a surprisingly convincing win for Andorra as they took over late in the first quarter (19-10) and led by 16 points (39-23) in the second quarter.
Madrid made a couple of comebacks but couldn’t get past a six-point margin (60-54) while Valencia held a double-digit lead throughout the whole fourth quarter.
Earlier, Casademont Zaragoza got its first win by beating Herbalife Gran Canaria 85-76, in a big part thanks to Nicolas Brussino. Gran Canaria stayed at two wins (2-2).
Brussino notched 20 points, nine boards and four assists while Jaime Pradilla helped with 14 and Dylan Ennis 12 points.
On the last game of the night, Valencia got the 94-90 win over Burgos behind 21 points by Mike Tobey and qualified to the semis. With a win on Friday, Valencia not only gets the ticket and also eliminates Real Madrid.
Valencia is the only team on Group B with a 3-1 record, while Zaragoza is the only one left at 1-3. The rest of the teams are tied at 2-2.
