Milwaukee Bucks‘ Giannis and Thanasis Antetokounmpo visited their brother Alex to Murcia, Spain where the youngest of the “Antetokounbros” will begin his professional career in the upcoming season.
Giannis and Thanasis attended Murcia’s training session with players from the youth and EBA (Spain’s fourth division) and saw Alex practice with his new team.
“First of all, I am happy to be able to come here to see my brother as we have not seen each other for a long time. For the three months, three and a half months that I have been in the NBA bubble, he has been here alone. It’s great to be able to come and see my little brother. Check that his house is clean, that he is making the bed… I am happy with how I see him. He is mentally very focused, ready for the season that is starting and to improve. I’ve been talking to Sito, he says he’s very focused on learning the plays, competing well and having fun. And this is all that a brother could want,” Giannis said.
Alex decided to turn pro last May and then signed a three-year contract with Murcia in June. Thanasis played in ACB with Andorra back in 2016-2017.
“He is very young and signing your first contract and becoming a professional is not easy at 18 or 19 years old. But he seems to be adapting very quickly. I’ve played this league before him and I think it’s the perfect league for guys like us. He is improving a lot and the most important thing he has to do at UCAM Murcia is to feel good being here,” Thanasis added.
