NBA Draft prospect Leandro Bolmaro registered multiple individual records as Barcelona blew out San Sebastian 87 – 60 in a postponed game for Round 4 of the Spanish ACB League.
Bolmaro played 27 minutes, more than in any other game of his professional career, and took advantage of the opportunity by dishing out a career-high 10 assists to get things moving in Barca’s offense. He actually had already dropped this number of dimes in just the first 18 minutes he was on the floor.
Apart from his assists, Bolmaro also had eight points (an ACB personal high – he shot 1-5 from the field and 6-6 from the line) and three steals (personal-best). He also made five turnovers but maybe Barca coach Sarunas Jasikevicius will let that slip by in light of his young player’s overall performance that resulted in 14 PIR. Yes, that’s an ACB career-high for him as well.
It’s safe to assume that Bolmaro knew that he will get some extra time on the court in light of his team’s tight schedule. Barca was coming off an ACB loss to Baskonia on Sunday (18/10) and has the EuroLeague Clasico vs. archrival Real Madrid next Friday, so Saras used starting playmaker Nick Calathes for only 11 minutes while Thomas Heurtel stayed on the court for 13:24.
Heurtel managed to post seven assists during that stretch, including this beauty.
While Bolmaro was sending assists to every direction, Brandon Davies scored 15 points in 11:39 minutes. Artem Pustovyi also dropped 15 points. 21-year-old forward Sergi Martinez added a career-high 10 points to Barca’s win.
