Iberostar Tenerife center Giorgi Shermadini was named MVP for October in the Spanish ACB League. The Georgian big man averaged 18.3 points (on 15-15 2-pointers and 25-27 free throws) and 5.0 rebounds for 28.7 PIR in three games and three wins for his team.
Tenerife had managed to begin the season with a 6-0 run in Spain, thanks also to Shermadini’s efforts. Their first and only defeat so far took place Sunday (1/11), in the hands of Barcelona.
Shermadini succeeded Obradoiro center Laurynas Birutis, who won MVP in September.
