Barcelona and Valencia faced each other in the Round 17 match played ahead of schedule and the latter came out on top after a late surge.
Barcelona – Valencia 90-100
The clash of EuroLeague squads belonged to Valencia which grabbed the road win thanks to a 13-2 run at the start of the fourth quarter.
Derrick Williams put on an amazing offensive display with 24 points on 5-5 for two and 3-4 for three while Bojan Dubljevic followed every step of the way with 24 points on 8-10 shooting including 2-2 from deep.
Dubljevic also logged six rebounds and six assists in 25 minutes on the floor. For Barca’s squad, which got a silent treatment from coach Sarunas Jasikevicius during one of the time-outs, Nikola Mirotic had 20 points and nine boards while Nick Calathes scored 17 points.
Real Madrid – Baskonia 92-83
Fabien Causeur stepped up for Real Madrid in the ACB derby and led his team to a tough victory with a 21-point performance. Gabriel Deck and Trey Thompkins followed with 15 points each and Sergio Llull completed the list of top scorers with 12 points.
Pierria Henry posted a game-high performance with 21 points for Baskonia, Zoran Dragic had 14 points while Alec Peters and Achilles Polonara tapped 13 points each.
Real Madrid remains undefeated after 12 games into the 2020-21 season as Baskonia falls to an 8-4 record.
