Valencia’s defense and Tenerife’s offense were two of the standouts in the opening day of this round in the Spanish League.

Real Madrid rolls into ACB Regular Season Round 13 at 12-0. Iberostar Tenerife closely follows in second place thanks to an 11-1 record.

Fuenlabrada – Valencia 61 – 68

In a game with some major ups and downs for both teams, Valencia had the final say and the win over Fuenlabrada. Nikola Kalinic scored 12 points and grabbed seven rebounds to lead a balanced effort on offense for the winning squad. Derrick Williams and Martin Hermannsoson added 11 points apiece.

Leo Meindl and Melo Trimble scored 18 and 15 points respectively for Fuenlabrada.

Joventut Badalona – Basket Zaragoza 88 – 81 

Xavi Lopez-Arostegui scored 28 points on 6-7 3-pointers as Badalona overcame Zaragoza at home thanks to a strong second half. Dylan Ennis produced 24 points and seven rebounds for Zaragoza while TJ Bray (on loan from Bayern Munich) made his team debut with 14 points (3-10 triples).

Iberostar Tenerife – Obradoiro 107 – 62

Absolute dominance by Tenerife that grabbed its 11th win in 12 games with a statement-performance. Giorgi Shermadini (18 points, six rebounds), Tyler Cavanaugh (15 points) and Marcelinho Huertas (14 points, nine assists) led the way for the hosts.

Steven Enoch had 15 points and seven rebounds while Mike Daum finished with 13 points for Obradoiro.

MoraBanc Andorra – Coosur Real Betis 72-55

Oriol Pauli with 15 points and Jeremy Senglin with 12 delivered the main offensive contribution as the home side improves to 6-4. On the losing end, Yakuba Ouattara and Youssou Ndoye scored 11 each.

RETAbet Bilbao – Movistar Estudiantes 77-78

Victor Arteaga hit the game-winner following an offensive rebound upping his total to 15 points. Aleksa Avramovic contributed 26 points on the road victory.

Alex Reyes pilling up 21 points off 5/6 threes was not enough for the hosts.

Baskonia – Gipuzkoa 83-71

Pierria Henry shined once more as Baskonia bounced back to improve to a 9-4 record, adding 21 points for the hosts. Rokas Giedraitis followed with 17 points, Youssoupha Fall had 12 points and 9 rebounds, as Zoran Dragic and Tonye Jekiri posted 10 points each.

Dino Radoncic led the visitors with 17 points and Viny Okouo had 16 points.

Unicaja Malaga – UCAM Murcia 102-81

Unicaja clinched its fifth straight victory in ACB paced behind an 18-point performance by Francisco Alonso. Adam Waczynski tapped 16 points and Carlos Suarez had 13 points.

Conner Frankamp paced all Murcia scorers with 17 points, followed by Augusto Lima who tapped 15.

San Pablo BurgosReal Madrid 60-74

No team seems able to knock off Real’s undefeated streak this season as it extended to 13 games against Burgos on the road. Nicolas Laprovittola led the efforts of the winners with 13 points and Rudy Fernandez posted 10 points.

Dejan Kravic added 14 points and Vitor Benite had 13 for Burgos.

Barcelona – Gran Canaria 91-63

Barcelona snapped back by destroying visiting Gran Canaria for the final game of the day in ACB. Pierre Oriola tapped 14 points to lead the hosts, while Artem Pustovyi and Leandro Bolmaro added 10 and 9 points each.

Stan Okoye led the visiting side with 11 points and Matt Costello posted 10 points.
