JJ Barea has penned a deal with Movistar Estudiantes for the remainder of the season, the club announced.
The 36-year-old point guard has been determined to keep playing in the NBA since parting ways with Dallas in December and could have a chance to do so before the playoffs begin on May 18, per Marc Stein.
Barea played in Puerto Rico and went to the Northeastern University before joining the NBA with the Dallas Mavericks.
He spent five years with the Mavs in the first stint and then moved on to Minnesota for three years before returning to Dallas for six more years. This will be his first time playing in Spain and Europe.
