Barcelona led up to 16 points in the fourth period en route to beating Baskonia 77 – 68 and qualify to the Copa del Rey Final. The Blaugrana are returning to the Final after a one-year absence and will face archrival Real Madrid for the title Sunday (14/2).
Nikola Mirotic had 16 points and Cory Higgins 15 for Barcelona that went up 69 – 63 two minutes into the final quarter after a basket by Brandon Davies. Baskonia rallied with 12 unanswered points to make it a four-point game a bucket by Tonye Jekiri with 3:28 remaining but that was as close as they got.
Davies dunked the ball for the 71 – 65 and his team preserved a thee-possession distance for the rest of the match.
Pierria Henry dropped 19 points (15 in the first half) and got six rebounds while Jekiri added 15 points for Baskonia.
