Real Madrid bounced back with a narrow 92-91 win over Unicaja on the road Sunday, to recover a three-game skid in the Spanish Liga Endesa and improve to a 17-4 record.
After an intense battle for the first three quarters, Real managed to pull away in the final period and retain a short lead until the end. Thomas Heurtel and Fabien Causeur stepped up for Pablo Laso’s squad with 16 points apiece, while Alberto Abalde and Vincent Poirier poured 11 points each.
Dario Brizuela tried to pace Unicaja’s comeback in the fourth quarter and led all scorers of the game with 19 points. Jonathan Barreiro tapped 13 points and Tim Abromaitis added 11 for the hosts.
Unicaja has now lost its fourth consecutive game and remains out of touch of the playoffs zone with a 7-12 record.
