Real Madrid recovered quickly from a heartbreaking loss in the EuroLeague championship game to make short work of Manresa 93 – 76 in Game 1 of the Spanish ACB League quarterfinals. The Blancos were superior from start to finish and never felt threatened by their opponents.
The French duo of Fabien Causeur (17 points, eight rebounds) and Guerschon Yabusele (15 points, four assists) led Real Madrid in scoring while Vincent Poirier delivered 12 points plus nine rebounds and Sergio Llull scored 12 as well. Their team overall outrebounded Manresa 52 – 26 and put on a superb defensive effort.
Sylvain Francisco had 12 points and Luke Maye dropped 10 points for Manresa that hosts Game 2 Saturday (28/5).
