Valencia Basket will go through many changes this summer and that includes also parting ways with some players. According to A Punt, the team will move on from Mike Tobey, Louis Labeyrie, and Olivier Hanlan.
Tobey and Labeyrie have been with the team since 2018 while Hanlan joined this year in order to fill up the vacancy left by injured Klemen Prepelic.
The management has been of the thought that Hanlan and Labeyrie haven’t fulfilled the expectations and aren’t the players that will be able to cope with the Euroleague level as Valencia expects an invitation for the next season.
Tobey had his struggles and while he showed some upsides, the club believes he isn’t playing up to the level of his contract, which is among the most expensive on the roster.
Valencia is reportedly in advanced talks with Marius Grigonis while coach Pedro Martinez is expected to make his return.
