Nicolas Laprovittola (26 points on 7-10 threes, six rebounds) and the entire Barcelona team got their engines rolling in the second half of the Spanish SuperCup semifinal against Joventut Badalona to win 91 – 74. This result sets up a “Clasico” battle for the title between the Blaugrana and archrival Real Madrid Sunday (25/9).
Laprovittola went off in the third period with 15 points on 4-7 triples through less than nine minutes as his team transformed a 39 – 46 deficit into a 68 – 60 lead. Barcelona retained the same intensity on both ends to establish a double-digit lead and go ahead even by 22 points halfway through the fourth period.
Badalona, couldn’t overcome such a margin. After a strong first half, Carles Duran’s players lost their connection to the basket, shooting just 8-28 from field while being unable to contain Barcelona.
The one exception was Joel Parra who scored 11 of his 14 points in the second half. Henry Ellenson dropped 14 points as well while Ante Tomic had 11 points and seven rebounds.
