As the club officially stated, Gran Canaria reached an agreement with Venezuelan player Michael Carrera until the end of the season.
The 30-year-old power forward came from Forca Lleida of the LEB Oro League, where he was the main candidate for the MVP and one of the best players in the competition.
The signing of Carrera comes a few days after the injury of French power forward Damien Inglis.
Carrera averaged 20,3 points and 9,3 rebounds per game this season, with an average PIR of 25,3.
After spending four years with South Carolina, in 2016, he began his professional career at Russian Avtodor Saratov. Since then, he has played for teams such as the Argentinian Obras Basket, the Mexican Soles de Mexicali, and Brose Bamberg and Hamburg Towers in Germany.
