After completing his first season as a professional at Casademont Zaragoza, talented Spanish player Aday Mara will continue his career in NCAA, per Relevo.
The 18-year-old will pay the buyout to Zaragoza and pack his bags to continue developing in the US.
With going on the other side of the Atlantic, Mara will start adapting to overseas basketball and continue preparing for the 2024 NBA draft, where he’s expected to be one of the first picks.
Reportedly, Mara’s future in the US is connected to one of the most prestigious universities in the NCAA, UCLA. The Bruins have the most university titles in the competition’s history.
Interestingly, if he arrives at the University of California, Los Angeles, the talented center would have a chance to work with the Serbian coach Ivo Simovic, an assistant at UCLA, who previously worked with another Spanihs talent, Memphis Grizzlies center Santi Aldama.
Mara debuted for Zaragoza on November 2021 in the EuroCup match. This season he played 20 of the 26 games for Porfirio Fisac’s squad and averaged 5,7 points and 3,4 rebounds per 12 minutes of play.
