According to a report by Olga Lorent from Onda Regional and confirmed by Eurohoops, Casademont Zaragoza is making efforts to close the signing of Jahlil Okafor, former third overall pick in the NBA Draft.
The 27-year-old center, who didn’t live up to the initial hype in the NBA, was drafted by the Philadelphia 76ers in 2015, following Karl Anthony Towns and D’Angelo Russell.
Okafor also played for the Brooklyn Nets, New Orleans Pelicans, and Detroit Pistons before moving abroad to play in China for the Zhejiang Lions in 2022.
As a former NCAA champion with Duke and NBA All-Rookie First Team selectee, Okafor spent the last season playing for the Capitanes de Ciudad de Mexico in the G League, where he averaged 20.5 points and 7.9 rebounds.
He’s now on the verge of moving to Europe for the first time, experiencing the ACB League with Porfirio Fisac’s Zaragoza.
