Christmas is over, but there is still somebody receiving their presents. Among them, there is Zunder Palencia, who reached an agreement with Stefan Moody, who will leave Igokea.
After the departure of Brandon Brown, who recently signed with Turk Telekom Ankara, Zunder Palencia needed a player who could fill the point guard position and did that by bringing in a playmaker of proven quality and a lot of experience.
A true globetrotter of basketball, the 30-year-old American playmaker has played in Turkey, Greece, Belarus, Hungary, France, and Bosnia and Herzegovina, playing in the latter country with Igokea m:tel.
Signing with the Bosnian team in the summer, he was having a pretty good ABA League campaign, averaging 11.4 points, 2.0 rebounds, and 3.9 assists per game with 41.7% from three-point range. His numbers in the Basketball Champions League, where Igokea was eliminated after a winless run (0-6) in the group stage, were 12.0 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game.
His arrival undoubtedly comes at the best possible time. Zunder Palencia, in fact, needs a winning boost if it wants to stay and compete in the ACB. With a record of 1-14, the team is three wins away from Morabanc Andorra and Rio Breogán, both at 4-11.
