Starting the second half of the double-legged round-robin schedule of Spain’s Liga Endesa Regular Season, UCAM Murcia made some noise by taking down Real Madrid.
The Universitarios secured the home win, 73-61, in Round 18 on Sunday.
Dylan Ennis dropped five of his 18 points in the fourth quarter of an exciting contest. Swedish import Ludvig Hakanson produced eight of his ten points in the last ten minutes. Dustin Sleva added 14 points for the Basketball Champions League outfit. Marko Todorovic combined ten points with seven rebounds against the team guided by Chus Mateo.
The reigning champions in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague dug their way out of a 15-point hole in the third quarter. However, the hosts recovered the lead and pulled away in the final seconds to confirm improving to 11-7. Los Blancos were forced down to 16-2.
Facundo Campazzo registered a team-high 15 points in the losing effort. Fabien Causeur and Guerschon Yabusele finished with 14 points each. Rudy Fernandez, Sergio Llull (right foot), Dzanan Musa, Vincent Poirier, and Walter Tavares (right ankle) were sidelined.
