Former NBA player, Ben McLemore was booked into the Clackamas County Jail on Tuesday. He was charged with first-degree rape, among other sex crimes, and is set to be arraigned in court on Wednesday.

Multiple outlets confirmed his arrest.

McLemore, 31, recently traveled from Lugo to Oregon after receiving permission from Rio Breogan. In March, he was involved in an incident with the police due to driving drunk in the Spanish city.

Emerging allegations amount to two counts of second-degree sexual abuse, besides first-degree rape.

Coming out of Kansas and selected with the seventh overall pick of the 2013 NBA draft, the native of St. Louis spent nine seasons in the NBA. He played in 571 games, including 15 in the Playoffs. The Sacramento Kings, Memphis Grizzlies, Houston Rockets, and Los Angeles Lakers were his stops before the Portland Trail Blazers throughout the 2021-22 Regular Season wrapped up a long spell in the league based in North America. His departure was met by a career average of 8.9 points per game.

Using overseas options, his career expanded from China to Europe. Last August, he signed with AEK Betsson but was released from his contract in December. Since joining Breogan, he went from Greece’s Stoiximan Basket League to Spain’s Liga Endesa, while staying in the Basketball Champions League up to the exit of the Galician outfit in the Play-In stage. In 28 appearances across the three leagues, he tallied 12.3 points and 2.8 assists per contest.
