Will Barton had his deal with CSKA Moscow terminated before even donning the jersey, and then he joined the Spanish side Coviran Granada.
After debuting in European basketball and making three appearances in the ACB League, the former NBA player officially left the Spanish team.
“Will Barton leaves Coviran Granada and returns to the United States today. The club appreciates the attitude and professionalism shown by the American player during the month in which he defended the Nasrid shirt,” per Granada’s official announcement.
Barton averaged 4.7 points during his brief stay while donning the Granada jersey in the ACB League.
The Portland Trail Blazers selected the 33-year-old US swingman as the 40th overall pick in the 2012 NBA draft. Three years later, he moved to the Denver Nuggets and stayed in Colorado until the 2022/23 season, when he got traded to the Washington Wizards. Barton then briefly played for the Toronto Raptors, and after a year of not playing, he tried his luck in Europe, but without much success so far.
