In a rather unique circumstance, most of the players who had the best individual performances during this Week in Liga Endesa, didn’t celebrate a win.
Thus, the MVP award was split three ways among Salva Arco, Bojan Dubljevic and Augusto Lima. Their 23 ranking points might not seem blinding, but they managed to led their teams to victories.
Salva Arco became a weekly MVP for the first time in Liga Endesa and his performance drove Tenerife to an important road win against Obradoiro. It is not an exaggeration to say that Arco had one of his best, if not the best, games of his career. With his 20 points and 6 fouls won, Arco tied his previous evaluation high, versus Valencia in 2014, when he was playing for Manresa. He also made a new record in scoring, since his previous best was the 19 points he had scored against Unicaja Malaga in 2012, again with the jersey of Manresa.
It was not a first time for Bojan Dubljevic, but the Montenegrin center combined this award with the impressive 28th consecutive victory of his team, Valencia. The Bats’ center had 19 points and and 7 rebounds against Zaragoza. His team’s winning streak owes much to him, as well.
A fitting way for Augusto Lima to write his “farewell message” to his beloved Murcia. The Brazilian big guy will continue his career in Real Madrid, yet he made sure that he will not leave the place in which he incredibly grew up as a player, without a certain show that brought a winning result. Lima scored 15 points with almost perfect stats (7/8 shots), grabbed 5 rebounds and dished 3 assists to his teammates, helping Murcia defeat Estudiantes.
