Wrapping up Round 1 of Spain’s Liga Endesa Regular Season, Leyma Coruna took down Real Madrid, 86-85.
In a packed Coliseum da Coruna with 9,300 fans watching the first ACB game in team history for the Coruna outfit, 31-year-old Cuban guard Yunio Barrueta completed a four-point play to hand his side a famous win.
The defending champions never trailed until the crazy three-pointer was combined with a free throw with 1.3 seconds on the clock.
It was a stunning upset for the team coached by Chus Mateo.

Coming off multiple stints in second-tier leagues of several European countries, Barrueta joined Coruna in 2022 and emerged among the key players in securing promotion to the top-flight division of Spain.
From LEB Oro to ACB, his first showing translated into 13 points with 4/9 three-pointers and the game-winning free throw. Lasting 27:30, he added two assists, one rebound, and one steal.
