Facundo Campazzo had to save Real Madrid and did exactly that with 20 points, nine assists, three steals and four turnovers.
The Argentinian guard took over the fourth quarter as the “Whites” beat Dreamland Gran Canaria 83-77, having now a 5-2 record in the Spanish Liga Endesa.
The guests took a 63-62 lead entering the last period, but the answer was a 7-0 run (69-63) with Campazzo scoring five points and when in the end three times GranCa made it a two-point game (72-70, 77-75, 79-77), Madrid kept their distance thanks to Facu.
Alberto Abalde also had a good game with 16 points, while Mario Hezonja and Serge Ibaka added 11 points each. Dzanan Musa didn’t play, still being injured.
Nicolas Brussino with 17 points was the top scorer of Gran Canaria which dropped to a 4-3 record.
