FC Barcelona holds on for a home win against Valencia following an early exit for Chimezie Metu

Leading in double-digits most of the way, FC Barcelona settled for a 102-99 victory against Valencia in Palau Blaugrana on Sunday.

In the second quarter of the Round 8 affair, Chimezie Metu hurt his left knee. He left the game with six points in just under five minutes. Barca is expected to update his status over the next few hours, upon medical tests. Due to a right knee injury, Nicolas Laprovittola is already out for the remainder of the 2024-25 season.

Overcoming the latest setback, Joan Penarroya’s side reached a 5-3 record in Spain’s Liga Endesa Regular Season. Kevin Punter scored a game-high 24 points.

With an away win, 106-89, against MoraBanc Andorra, Unicaja jumped to a league-high 7-1. Tyson Carter poured in a season-high 25 points.

Elsewhere in the ACB, Baskonia went from a double-digit advantage for most of the game to a poor finish and a loss, 86-85, to Casademont Zaragoza.

In WiZink Center, Real Madrid beat Hiopos Lleida and improved to 6-2, earlier Sunday. Usman Garuba and Dzanan Musa remained on the injury list.
